A: Reason: For spanned volume, mirror volume and other newly created volume on dynamic disk, Dynamic Disk Converter can not convert them back to basic partition currently, because these volumes are newly created and they does not belong to the original basic disk, therefore they can not return.
Advice: If there are some dynamic volumes newly created on the dynamic disk, we strongly recommended that you using feature Method 2 at first which convert indirectly any dynamic volume to basic partition, then again using Method 1 is to directly convert the disk back to basic disk.
After completing the conversion and restarting the computer, why does the "Missing" disk be showed in Windows disk management?
A: Reason: On your computer, if there have two dynamic disks or more, but you only convert one of them to basic disk, here Windows disk management will appear to a "Missing" disk. The main reason is that the disk configuration information is recorded one another by all dynamic disks. However, to ensure data security, we did not delete these configurations from all dynamic disks.
Advice: We suggest you delete all volumes manually on the "Missing" disk, and then delete the "Missing" disk. Deleting them does not affect your real data on other disk, but this will delete only the configuration information of the converted disk on other dynamic disk. Otherwise, you could use Disk Management or diskpart.exe tool to delete it.
Another method is to convert all dynamic disks to basic disk. The consequence is all "Missing" disks will be removed automatically by Windows.
